Ruth Salerno (née Granato), born on December 17, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away surrounded by love after a courageous month of health complications
Ruth was the beloved daughter of the late Susan and Frank Granato and cherished sister to Terri Connelly and the late Frank Granato. In 1970, she married the love of her life, Santo Salerno. Though they were never blessed with children, Ruth and Santo built a rich and meaningful life together filled with friendship, travel, laughter, and deep faith.
Ruth was a devoted parishioner of St. Dominic’s Church, where she generously gave of her time and spirit in service to her community. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, reflected in her kindness, humility, and steady presence for those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Terri Connelly, and her niece, Christine Connelly. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Salerno, and her nieces and nephews Anthony (Maureen), Victoria (Sean), Eugene, and Vincent (Angie), as well as her treasured great-nieces and nephews Ella, Sophia, Owen, Alex, and Liliana.
Ruth also leaves behind her two adored cats, Maggie and Lisa, who brought her constant companionship and joy.
Ruth will be remembered for her devotion to family and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
