Maryanne Grace Leto, 67, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, April 16, at Community Medical Center.
Born May 28, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York, Maryanne was the beloved daughter of Geraldine Bohl, Lawrence D’Amato, and Philip Marchese. She grew up in Brooklyn, spent her summers in Breezy Point, and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1977.
Maryanne devoted many years to being a stay-at-home mom while also working part time and attending college. She eventually earned her teaching degree and worked as a paraprofessional at Shallow Middle School, where she supported children with disabilities. She was known for her positive attitude and her ability to make others laugh.
Outside of work, Maryanne enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, cruises, dining out with family and friends, and taking on home renovation projects—often surprising her family after a day of work or school with her latest accomplishment. She was truly one of a kind, with a strong personality and a natural gift for humor. Whether she was teasing Drew about snoring like a “saw-chain,” yelling at Kevin for smashing a custom cake & yelling at Andrew for eating it or telling those who didn’t agree with her to “Go blow it out their ass.”She created memories that will last a lifetime. Above all, she lived her life in service to others, always helping care for those in need. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Maryanne is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Drew; her children, Andrew, Kevin & Daughter-In-Law Kristen her cherished grandchildren, Tabetha, Nicholas, and Kaitlyn; her sister, Cathy & Brother-In-Law Ritchie; and her brothers, Walter, Arthur & Sister-In-Law Annie.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
