A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Born in Puerto Rico on April 22, 1953, Luis moved to New York early in life, planting deep roots in Queens. For 36 years, he served as a dedicated doorman in Manhattan. With his warm presence, steady work ethic, and easy smile, he was a familiar and welcoming face to countless people over the decades.
More than anything, Luis was defined by his incredible heart. He was a man who brought happiness and humor wherever he went, effortlessly filling every room he entered with his genuinely good soul. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Survived By:
Loving son, Louis Candelaria; his two grandchildren: Maison and Brianna; his brother, David (Norma) Candelaria; sisters, Miriam Candelaria, Yvonne (Vinnie) Iacovetta; nieces, Jennifer (Robert) Dawson & Jacqueline (Tony) Franco-Rivera; nephew, David (Kristin) Candelaria.
He was preceded in death by his
Niece, Laura Candelaria
Beloved Grandnieces & Nephews:
Maya, Jolie, Noelia, Chloe, Joaquin, Lianna, and Daniel.
Luis’s legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
