Lucrecia Galvez

God has called home a beautiful soul. On June 8, 2026 at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, Lucrecia Galvez entered eternal rest. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and devoted friend whose love touched countless lives.
Born in Peralvillo, Yamasa, Dominican Republic, Lucrecia was the beloved daughter of Marcelina Manzueta alongside her loving husband Gregorio Amparo. She later married the love of her life, Juan Galvez, and together they immigrated to the United States, building a home and a future for their family in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
Lucrecia's life was defined by faith, sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love. Through every hardship she faced, she remained devoted to her family, always finding a way forward and teaching those around her the value of perseverance, kindness, and gratitude. She possessed a remarkable gift for bringing comfort to others. Whether through a heartfelt conversation, a listening ear, a warm meal, or a simple prayer, Lucrecia made everyone feel loved and welcomed.
A faithful and active member of Our Lady of Solace Church, Lucrecia dedicated much of her life to serving God and her community. She proudly completed her Cursillista journey and volunteered tirelessly whenever her church needed her. She was often the first to offer her time, her talents, and her cooking, preparing meals for church gatherings and sharing food with those experiencing hardship. Her faith was unwavering, and she remained thankful to God throughout her life for every blessing, especially the gift of family.
Family was the center of Lucrecia's world. She and her husband lovingly raised four beautiful children, always putting their needs before her own. She created joy even during difficult times, turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. She took her children on ferry rides, to neighborhood parks, to the beach for crab fishing, and to enjoy the rides of Coney Island. She filled her home with warmth, laughter, music, dancing, and celebrations. No holiday was ever ordinary under Lucrecia's roof. She had a special way of making every gathering feel magical, ensuring her children always felt loved regardless of life's challenges.
One cherished memory that perfectly captures her loving heart was the surprise Sweet Sixteen celebration she organized for her son Juan. Though such celebrations were not traditionally held for boys, Lucrecia saw no limits in showing her children how deeply she loved them.
Equally precious to her heart was the day she became a grandmother. The birth of her first grandchild, Brandon Jose, was a blessing she thanked God for endlessly. It was a moment that filled her with overwhelming joy, love, and gratitude. Holding him in her arms for the first time was more than the arrival of a grandson, It was the beginning of a new chapter in her life. One that she embraced with all the love a grandmother could give. The memory remained close to her heart for the rest of her days.
Lucrecia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading the Bible, sewing in her home, taking long walks, watching novelas, volunteering at church, and ending each day in prayer for everyone she loved. Even in her final moments, her thoughts remained with her family, always asking about those she cared for most.
She will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, Juan Galvez.
Remembering her with endless love are her cherished children: Juan A. Galvez with his wife Sandy Galvez, Erica Galvez, Deangelis Galvez, and Geraldine Galvez, who were her greatest pride and joy.
She is also lovingly survived by her grandchildren: Taisha, Gladys, Deon, Brandon Jose, Jaden A. Neville, Kaley Michelle, Nicholas Carter, and Xavier David, and by her treasured great-grandson Castiel, along with a soon-to-be-born great-grandson.
Lucrecia also leaves behind her beloved siblings Martina, Tomas, Reyes, Demetrio, Juan, Felicita, Sencion, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all those whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, and love.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Lucrecia's legacy lives on in every lesson she taught, every prayer she offered, every meal she prepared, every laugh she shared, and every life she touched. Her love was the thread that held generations together, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire her family for years to come.
While our hearts are broken by her earthly departure, we find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. Though we can no longer see her, we carry her spirit with us always.
Until we meet again, we will love you, miss you, and remember you forever.

Dios ha llamado a su presencia a una hermosa alma. El 8 de junio de 2026, en el Maimonides Medical Center de Brooklyn, Nueva York, Lucrecia Gálvez pasó al descanso eterno. Fue una esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana y amiga entrañable, cuyo amor tocó innumerables vidas.
Nacida en Peralvillo, Yamasá (República Dominicana), Lucrecia fue la amada hija de Marcelina Manzueta y de su cariñoso esposo, Gregorio Amparo. Más tarde contrajo matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Juan Gálvez; juntos emigraron a los Estados Unidos, donde construyeron un hogar y un futuro para su familia en Coney Island, Brooklyn.
La vida de Lucrecia estuvo marcada por la fe, el sacrificio, la resiliencia y el amor incondicional. A pesar de las adversidades que enfrentó, se mantuvo siempre dedicada a su familia, encontrando siempre la manera de seguir adelante y enseñando a quienes la rodeaban el valor de la perseverancia, la bondad y la gratitud. Poseía un don extraordinario para brindar consuelo a los demás. Ya fuera a través de una conversación sincera, escuchando con atención, ofreciendo una comida reconfortante o una sencilla oración, Lucrecia hacía que todos se sintieran amados y bienvenidos.
Como miembro fiel y activo de la iglesia Our Lady of Solace, Lucrecia dedicó gran parte de su vida a servir a Dios y a su comunidad. Completó con orgullo su camino en el Cursillista y colaboró incansablemente como voluntaria siempre que su iglesia la necesitaba. A menudo era la primera en ofrecer su tiempo, sus talentos y sus dotes culinarias, preparando comidas para las reuniones de la iglesia y compartiendo alimentos con quienes atravesaban dificultades. Su fe era inquebrantable y se mantuvo agradecida a Dios durante toda su vida por cada bendición, especialmente por el regalo de la familia.
La familia era el centro del mundo de Lucrecia. Junto a su esposo, crió con amor a cuatro hijos maravillosos, anteponiendo siempre las necesidades de ellos a las suyas propias. Ella creaba alegría incluso en los momentos difíciles, transformando instantes cotidianos en recuerdos entrañables. Llevaba a sus hijos a pasear en ferry, a los parques del vecindario, a la playa para pescar cangrejos y a disfrutar de las atracciones de Coney Island. Llenaba su hogar de calidez, risas, música, baile y celebraciones. Ninguna festividad era ordinaria bajo el techo de Lucrecia; tenía una manera especial de hacer que cada reunión se sintiera mágica, asegurándose de que sus hijos siempre se sintieran amados, sin importar los desafíos de la vida.
Un recuerdo entrañable que refleja perfectamente su corazón amoroso fue la fiesta sorpresa de "Sweet Sixteen" (celebración de los 16 años) que organizó para su hijo Juan. Aunque tradicionalmente estas fiestas no se celebraban para los varones, Lucrecia no veía límites a la hora de demostrarles a sus hijos cuánto los amaba.
Igualmente preciado para su corazón fue el día en que se convirtió en abuela. El nacimiento de su primer nieto, Brandon José, fue una bendición por la que agradeció a Dios incesantemente. Fue un momento que la llenó de una alegría, un amor y una gratitud inmensos. Sostenerlo en brazos por primera vez fue más que la llegada de un nieto: fue el comienzo de un nuevo capítulo en su vida, uno que abrazó con todo el amor que una abuela puede brindar. Ese recuerdo permaneció muy cerca de su corazón durante el resto de sus días.
Lucrecia encontraba alegría en los placeres sencillos de la vida. Le encantaba leer la Biblia, coser en casa, dar largas caminatas, ver telenovelas, hacer voluntariado en la iglesia y terminar cada día orando por todos sus seres queridos. Incluso en sus últimos momentos, sus pensamientos estaban con su familia, preguntando siempre por aquellos a quienes más quería.
Será recordada por siempre por su amado esposo, Juan Gálvez.
La recuerdan con infinito amor sus queridos hijos: Juan A. Galvez y su esposa Sandy Galvez, Erica Galvez, Deangelis Galvez y Geraldine Galvez, quienes fueron su mayor orgullo y alegría.
También la sobreviven con cariño sus nietos, Taisha, Gladys, Deon, Brandon Jose, Jaden A. Neville, Kaley Michelle, Nicholas Carter y Xavier David; su querido bisnieto Castiel, además de un bisnieto que todavía está por nacer.
Lucrecia deja también a sus amados hermanos Martina, Tomas, Reyes, Demetrio, Juan, Felicita, Sencion, así como a numerosos sobrinos, familiares, queridos amigos y a todas aquellas personas cuyas vidas se vieron enriquecidas por su bondad, generosidad y amor.
Aunque su viaje terrenal ha llegado a su fin, el legado de Lucrecia perdura en cada enseñanza que impartió, en cada oración que elevó, en cada comida que preparó, en cada risa que compartió y en cada vida que tocó. Su amor fue el vínculo que mantuvo unidas a las generaciones, y su recuerdo seguirá guiando e inspirando a su familia en los años venideros.
Si bien nuestros corazones están desconsolados por su partida terrenal, hallamos consuelo al saber que ha sido acogida en los brazos amorosos de nuestro Señor y Salvador. Aunque ya no podamos verla, llevamos su espíritu siempre con nosotros.
