Kim Marie Trentacosta-Ramirez was born on October 6, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York, to Adeline Trentacosta and Pablo Diaz, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Brooklyn, where she attended P.S. 81Q for elementary school, P.S. 79 for junior high, and later graduated from Ridgewood High School.
As a child, Kim spent her summers visiting family in California and Tennessee, experiences she treasured deeply. From an early age, she showed a creative spirit. She loved collecting bugs, sewing, crocheting, and making her own clothes. As she grew older, her creativity expanded into painting, drawing, and bedazzling anything she could get her hands on. Art was not just a hobby for Kim; it was how she expressed herself.
Kim began her professional life working for the New York Postal Service and later dedicated herself to caring for others as a home health aide for the elderly. In 2000, after the birth of her youngest child, she stepped away from work to become a full-time homemaker, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.
Kim was best known for her welcoming heart. She had a way of making everyone feel at home, offering warmth, laughter, and comfort without hesitation. She had a vibrant personality, a big heart, and a wonderful sense of humor. She especially loved her husband’s corny dad jokes, even when she pretended not to. Her family meant everything to her. She loved her children fiercely, adored her grandchildren completely, and cherished her beloved fur babies.
In her free time, Kim enjoyed playing video games, watching anime, cooking, and spending joyful days at amusement parks with her family. These moments, filled with laughter and togetherness, reflected what mattered most to her.
In 1996, while attending school to earn her degree, Kim met Jose Ramirez, the love of her life, who worked as an elevator operator at the school. Their friendship grew into love, and they made their relationship official on December 17, 1996. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed two children, sharing years of love and happiness until her passing.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Ramirez; her children, Adeline, Domonick, Christopher, Jose, and Kimmarie; her sister, Michelle; seven grandchildren; two nephews; six nieces; and a host of extended family members and loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, humor, and the deep love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
