Ida Littera
Oct 28th, 1928 - May 18th, 2026
It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of this remarkable woman. All who knew my mother understood her incredible kindness and regard for others. She lived an adventurous life, embarking on a voyage from Genoa Italy to the port of Montevideo, Uruguay in 1950 to meet my dad, and start their married life together. They lived there for 14 years before moving and settling in Brooklyn NY. She was a dress maker and loved the trade. Since she was 13, she would help her mother design and make wedding dresses for the people in her town of Bisignano, Calabria, Italy. She loved to travel and her life was an adventure as she describes beautifully in her memoirs:
“ViaggioQuando io era piccola mi piaceva molto viaggiare.
We were with my mom until the very last breath. It was a spiritaiul and peaceful transition. We love you very much mom. Thank you for everything. Hug dad for us!
